Dr. C. Thomas Brophy

Dr. Brophy specializes in Neuroscience, Emergency Medicine and Addiction Medicine. In the emergency department, he deals with the acute aspects of addiction such as overdose, acute withdrawal, and the social impact of substance abuse. While treating addiction in the outpatient setting, he helps bring hope and stability to those struggling with addiction, and is able to witness and assist as people rebuild their lives. He uses his background in neuroscience to educate our youth, and has built numerous addiction prevention programs that have been implemented in schools across western, PA.

 

Dr. Brophy is also one of very few physicians in the region to be Board Certified in Addiction Medicine as recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialities (ABMS). This designation has been awarded to a small number of physicians nationwide. He has also received numerous other awards for his efforts to educate the public and reduce the stigma associated with addiction, including a Proclamation from Allegheny County for the work he performed through the Opiate Reform Initiative, a 501(c)3 non-profit launched by Dr. Brophy in 2016. His knowledge on the topics, combined with his dedication to help people, and his empathy for the struggles of addiction are truly remarkable.

Brittany Brophy

Brittany Brophy is the Vice President of Trilogy Wellness and also performs multiple hands-on daily roles within and outside of our facility. From answering all of the incoming calls and questions, to dealing with your insurance company, to sorting out medication matters with the pharmacy, she is a highly skilled member of our team. Patient care is her top priority , from the first time that you call our office you will instantly realize that your comfort is her main concern.

 

Growing up in inner-city Pittsburgh and witnessing family members struggle with addiction, she has a keen knowledge of the destruction that substance abuse can bring into a family unit. Brittany has been fully immersed in the addiction treatment space for over 5 years now, we consider her the glue that keeps it all together. Many happy clients will tell you that her compassion for others and her warm heart are what makes Trilogy so special.

       Dr. Russell L. Adams was born outside of Houston, TX.  He grew up in a small town in Northwest New Jersey called Byram.  He attended Muhlenberg College and graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry, minor in German Studies.  Following college, Dr. Adams, attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Osteopathy.  Following medical school, Dr. Adams performed his internship and residency at the Medical Center of Beaver in Beaver PA.  After completing his residency in Family Medicine, Dr. Adams completed a year of fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at The Ohio State University.  Dr. Adams first went to work for an Orthopedic Group in North New Jersey before settling back in the greater Pittsburgh area. 

       As the Chief Medical Officer of Trilogy Wellness, Dr. Adams is excited to bring his compassion and expertise to this fully integrated drug treatment center and work to advance the care of our patients to combine medically assisted treatment with comprehensive psychiatric care.  Dr. Adams started working in the Opiate Recovery space by starting Aurora Recovery Services 5 years ago.  He has been working through Crossroads Treatment Centers the last 2 years.

       Dr. Adams currently works in various other professional roles.  He is a staff Emergency Room Physician at Wheeling Hospital.  He is the Medical Director of a multi-disciplinary group called Allegheny Medical in Robinson, PA.  He was the Medical Director for almost 2 years for Grane Hospice in Pittsburgh.  He started and owns Elite Alternative Medicine 7 years ago, a multidisciplinary office in both NJ and PA promoting the certification of individual patients for Medicinal Marijuana.  He is also a part-time family physician at Montour Family Healthcare in Robinson, PA.

       Dr. Adams was commissioned in the United States Air Force in June 2000.  He has been a member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard for his entire military career stationed in both Willow Grove and Coraopolis.  He has provided care as a staff physician and a flight surgeon.  Currently he holds the rank of Colonel and was the Medical Group Commander of the 171st Air Refueling Wing for the past 5 years.  Dr. Adams has had an exemplary career and has received multiple accolades, the highlights are an Air Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and a Humanitarian Medal.  Providing humanitarian service in Uganda, Panama and Louisiana have been some of his most memorable opportunities.

Dr. Christal Dickun, M.D.

       Dr. Dickun is a board certified Emergency Medicine physician with over 10 years of experience practicing medicine. Dr. Dickun grew up in Connecticut and attended college at the University of Connecticut where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. Dr. Dickun’s medical training began in Philadelphia where she attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. Coming from a military family, she joined the United States Navy at that time and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency program at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.
       Dr. Dickun served as an active duty emergency medicine physician for the U.S. Navy at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, in addition to deploying to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, and supported the Pacific Fleet at Naval Hospital Guam before being honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander in 2016. At that time, Dr. Dickun and her family returned to the Pittsburgh area where her husband was born and raised. During her time in the military and many hours spent treating wounded warriors with complex injuries and pain problems she saw first hand how opiates can lead to addiction problems. After her time in the Navy she continues to stay clinically active in emergency medicine working for UPMC part-time. In addition, Dr. Christal Dickun also serves as the Medical Director for the Center for Pain Relief and Longevity where she treats patients with alternative treatments to control pain. She is currently working towards her board certification in Addiction Medicine and hopes to achieve this recognition by 2025.

She was born and raised in Latrobe and has offices on Ligonier street in Latrobe and on Laird street in Greensburg. We are a growing company that also has 5 other offices across southwestern PA. Lisa Greene NP Erie PA
Melissa Greene, NP

        Melissa Greene (Lisa) is a long time resident of Erie, PA; having graduated from Villa Maria School of Nursing in 1991. Initially, she went to work at an Erie hospital where she spent the next 15 years. During that time she received her BSN from Gannon University and then her Masters in Science and Nursing with a focus on the advanced practice role of the Nurse Practitioner from Edinboro, Clarion, and Slippery Rock Universities. Lisa is board certified in Family Practice by the ANCC. She worked at a federally qualified health center in Erie for the next 10 years. Eventually, Lisa started her own psychiatric medication management consultation company for long term care residents in the Erie area. It was during this time that she received training in MAT and SUD. She has been treating patients with SUD since 2018 and looks forward to continuing the fight to eliminate opioid related issues and death. Come see Lisa in the Franklin and Erie Trilogy offices!
